STEAM(English.Ver)

Our school is committed to developing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) curriculum to enhance science, technology, and mathematics education, and to cultivate diverse talents. Through STEAM DAY workshops, we can strengthen students' comprehensive and applied knowledge and skills, including hands-on skills, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, our school continues to develop and optimize information technology teaching, including computer programming education, VR courses, 3D printing courses, robotics courses, and more, to enhance students' general abilities.

Our school held the "Life Education and STEAM DAY" on July 28th and 29th. Teachers designed interdisciplinary STEAM projects and infused elements of life education into the activities, fostering "Love. Maker" students with 6Cs (Creativity, Critical thinking, Communication, Collaboration, Character, Citizenship).

Grade 1: Homemade basketball machine
l Through waste utilization, students make their own basketball machine and learn to cherish toys and share with others.
Grade 1: Homemade soccer machine

l   Through waste utilization, students make their own soccer machine and learn to cherish toys and share with others.

Grade 2: Eco-friendly Mid-Autumn Festival

l  Students learn about the significance of the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and eco-friendly ways to celebrate it. They then use waste materials and the principle of circuit connections to make eco-friendly lanterns, learning to care for the environment while enjoying the holiday.

Grade 4: Earthquake-resistant Buildings

l  Teachers teach students about building materials and then let them experience building houses with cement and simulated bricks. They then discuss the design of earthquake-resistant buildings and use earthquake instruments to test and improve them, allowing students to explore scientific principles and the importance of safe buildings.

Grade 4: Eco-friendly Power Car

l  Through making eco-friendly power cars, students play while exploring the characteristics of air, raising awareness of cherishing toys and the importance of environmental protection.

Grade 5: The Development of Chinese Artificial Intelligence (AI)

l   Teachers teach students about the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and Alibaba Cloud Services, then introduce computer vision and explore how computers see information and images. They then guide students in taking sports uniform photos to build AI models, and practice basic operations on the Alibaba Cloud platform. Finally, they teach students about the labeling and model building of artificial intelligence conditions, followed by testing and reflecting on improvements in AI works.

Grade 5: Water Rocket

l   Through making water rockets and continuously testing and launching them, students record the trajectory of the flight using applications, calculate the speed, and finally understand the principle of rocket launching. Through teaching activities in Chinese and library classes, students gain a deeper understanding of the increasingly mature aerospace technology in China, the rapid progress made by astronauts and researchers, and learn to appreciate their efforts.

Grade 6: Love-Filled Intelligent Goods Rack

l   Students wear water bottles on their feet to experience the feeling of elderly people with limited mobility. Through this, they learn to care for the elderly and design products that meet their needs - the Love-Filled Intelligent Goods Rack.
